FAQs

How long does it take to get labels sewn in?

Most label jobs are turned around in a few days. If you're on a tight timeline (like for school camp or hospital admission), just let us know and we’ll do our best to help.

Can I use a name sticker instead of a sewn-on clothing label?

A name sticker is great for lunchboxes and books, but on clothes, it usually peels off in the wash. For anything worn or washed often, stick with iron on labels and then sew them around the edges or use sewn-in clothing name labels.

Can I bring in iron on labels for you to apply?

We don’t apply iron on labels in-store, but we’re happy to sew them on instead. If you’ve got clothing name labels, bring them in with your garments, and we’ll attach them securely.

Do you offer clothing name labels at Alter It?

We don’t supply clothing labels, but we can attach any iron on, fabric, or name labels you bring in. All you need to do is make sure the garments are clean and the labels are ready to go.

Can you label items other than uniforms?

Yes, we can attach clothing name labels to a wide range of items, including lunch bags, sports gear, drawstring bags, library bags, and more. 

Can you attach iron-on labels or iron-on clothing tags in-store?

We don’t use heat-based methods like iron on labels or iron on clothing. Our tailors sew name labels in by hand or machine for a longer-lasting, neater result.
